This book marks the end of the Seasons of the Moon: Cain Chronicles series. If you’ve been following along you know that even though the series has come to an end, this is not the last that readers will see of Seth, Abel and Rylie. Actually far from it.So, you know that I’ve jumped around a bit. I read the first couple of books in the Seasons of the Moon series and then I lost track. I was reminded again about these books when I was introduced to the Ascension series. I read Sacrificed in Shadow, the first book in that series and I was hooked. The Ascension series ties both the Descent and Seasons of the Moon series together. Unfortunately, I was 2 1/2 series and about 16 books behind. (Did I mention that S.M. Reine writes really, really fast?) The point is… I’m almost caught up and even though you can pretty much start anywhere with any of these series, I’m so glad I took the time to play catch-up ;)
Alpha Moon was kind of short, but it covered a lot of ground. Rylie and Abel were still getting to know their twins. The pack was getting ready to move to a new, isolated location. The world not only knew about, but was terrified of anything supernatural. There was an entire government organization not only out to get Rylie and her pack, but just looking for a reason to destroy them and Rylie’s mom was coming to visit. In a normal world, that would be the easiest thing to handle. Rylie’s world was anything but normal.
There was so much to love about this book. I loved getting to know Summer better and watching her get closer to Rylie. I gained a whole new appreciation for Abel who I had just recently started to like. And then there was Jessica… I gotta say, my reaction to her was totally unexpected.
I have to admit though, if I had read this as a series finale, I probably would have been a little disappointed. Reading it knowing that there is so much more to come is totally different. In that respect I suppose I can forgive myself for taking so long to catch up. If you’re starting fresh with this series and others in the S.M. Reine universe, enjoy. Alpha Moon may mark the end of a series, but the adventure has just begun.

Alpha Moon The Cain Chronicles edition by SM Reine Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
This was a very good series, with ups, and downs, tragedy, and triumph. Rylie falls in love with. not one man but two, and they are brothers. Both are delectable, ones a bit more of a bad boy, while the other is just as sweet, and loving as can be. One is going to school to be a Dr, and the other one is a werewolf. Oh so much happens throughout this series I can't even begin to pick all the different things out, without divulging to much. This was really a great series, I recommend it highly.
Enough now with Rylie and Abel and the same things over and over again. Although this included the mum I am not sure what for. She has never been interested before and now she rolls over and is understanding about everything her daughter has done. I have downloaded another series by this author that apparently mentions Rylie and her troupe of weres (let me be clear - it was free and going on blurbs it seemed good, let me make it clearer I downloaded all the books at the same time because I was wanting to branch out) and now I am dreading the experience.
look this is a good writer but to come out of a three star it needs simplicity and character development but I can't say it is a bad read and it does conclude of sorts.
Oh, this was a perfect ending to the Cain Chronicles. Rylie meets up with her mother again for the first time in years and not only has to deal with all the angst that comes along with that but also the danger of being exposed as a werewolf.
Meanwhile, the Union is hot to put the hurt on any preternaturals they come across. They are seriously not fun. In fact, they're fun-suckers.
I loved, loved, loved that we got to see Abel backing Rylie up and being a total stand up guy. For as much as I didn't like him as a person when he was first introduced, I am TOTALLY loving him as a character now. He's changed a lot since the original series and it works.
I'm sad to close out this series, but excited that we'll see more of Rylie and her crew in the Ascension series. YAY!

Same review for multi books
I LOVE SM REINE!!!!!
Check her website for the order of her books and how they interact with each other.
So, she has several series, but they all interact with each other in some way or another. LOVE THAT, because your sad you want to know more about this person or this event, GOT IT in another series!!!
Anyways, LOVE her, LOVE all her books I've read so far, I'm rereading the ones in better order since I'm finally able to purchase more books so I can finish story lines (was jobless for a bit ( killed me that i couldn't read more than a sample)
This was a great short, fun installment that ties up a few loose ends from the Cain Chronicles.
I tore through this one in a few hours and felt much better for it. At the end of book #6 I felt like Abel never really got his proper time spent with Riley. Yes, he ended up with the girl, but he really didn't spend a lot of human time with her. Wolf time aside, I thought he was really missing out.
Fast forward to this book, where we get lots of sexy hot time with Abel, and I'm a happy girl! We get to see how this new family unit interacts (which wasn't nearly as awkward as I thought it would be). This story sort of revolves around Jessica, Riley's mom coming to visit. I sort of forgot about her, to be honest, but this is yet another loose end that gets nicely tied up at the end of the series.
I look forward to reading this cross-over book involving Elise and Riley! I also want to know what is happening with Nash and Summer, but I guess that can wait a little bit. I am really James/Elise deprived right now.
